It’s Summer Time: Get out into the Community with Broadview University
Published on July 9, 2014 by Bob Trewartha
Well, summer is finally here! Everyone is outdoors and being active, whether it is climbing in the mountains, traveling around Utah or going to local festivals. Broadview University-Orem will be at several festivals this summer, and you should come out and see us. One of the important components of success for Broadview and our students is being involved in our community.
Recently, Broadview was at Strawberry days in Pleasant grove with a booth and giveaways for all the festival goers. The games, craft vendors and rides were in full swing at Strawberry days. It is a really great place to get more information about Broadview and try out a variety of new foods and crafts.
Broadview will have admission representatives, students and program chairs at a number of events over the summer. Some of the events include: The Freedom Festival in Provo, Scottish days, the Wasatch County Fair in Heber and the Utah county fair. We will have giveaways, quality information, student testimonials and good conversation.
“One of the things I enjoy most about working at the local fairs and festivals is the chance to hear from the community. Broadview gets a lot of good feedback on what people are looking for as well as industry needs,” said Bob Trewartha, community manager at Broadview University-Orem.
One of the other benefits that the summer events brings to Broadview and our students is finding applied and service learning opportunities. The opportunity to volunteer, get involved with various businesses or even find out what their needs are really creates benefits for our students.
