David Martini, Broadview University – West Jordan’s Director of Career Services, shows us how to give a great job interview.

David is here to help you!

Now that you have impressed a prospective employer with your Application, Resume, and Cover Letter, it is time to impress them with your interview skills.  You will have the opportunity to meet with different individuals of the company, and be able to see the environment you could be working in.  There are times when interviews can be intimating, however with the proper preparations, you will be able to increase your chances of landing that job.  The State of Michigan Career Services has given the following tips to follow before, during, and after the interview:

When you are in the interview, it is important to be yourself.  You are there to see the company your true self.  One item that can put your mind at ease, you are not the only individual being interviewed, you are actually interviewing the company.  You need to make sure you have the desire to spend a majority of your day at the company.

Now that you are better equipped for the interview, they do not need to be as imitating as they use to be.  There are many different ways you can prepare for the interview, the first one would be to contact the Director of Career Services to set-up a Mock Interview.  This will give you the opportunity to see yourself in action.

Good Luck with all of your Interview Adventures.  It can be a scary item, yet also a rewarding experience.
