Published on January 14, 2016 by arothstein
“Aim High” and “Amazing Accomplishments” were the themes of the Graduate Speakers for the Summer, Fall Graduation that Broadview University and Broadview Entertainment and Arts University held on January 8, 2016. During the Commencement Broadview had the privilege of awarding 1 Graduate Degree, 18 Bachelor’s, 41 Associate’s, and 3 Certificates. During the Commencement the Graduate Speakers encourage their fellow Graduates to take a look back on their educational experience, and think about what they were able to accomplish. Although everyone had a different path, everyone was able to graduate from Broadview University, where they will have the opportunity to start a new career.
Before Utah’s Attorney General, Sean Reyes, took time to address the graduated and encouraged them to aspire to higher things, he took a few “Selfies”, where the graduates were able to “Photo Bomb” the picture. While he was talking with the graduates, he encouraged them to aspire for high goals. Individuals will put obstacles in their way, yet, take time to overcome those obstacles because you will be a better person for doing so. It will help you grow professionally and personally.
The Commencement Ceremony also gave Broadview to award individuals for their accomplishments while attending school. Broadview University takes pride in all of their graduates and were excited to see all of their accomplishments, several students stood out on making an impact on the Faculty and Staff. The following individuals were awarded Graduate of the Quarter:
- Amy Barber- Layton Campus
- Melanee Davis- Orem Campus
- EddieLynn Funk- West Jordan Campus
- Diane McDonald- BEAU
- Jared Bigelow- BEAU
- Mindy Ige- Orem Campus
- Angela Keeley- West Jordan Campus
- Rachel Perez- Layton Campus
The Commencement Ceremony was a time for the Graduates to reflect on their time at Broadview University, yet it is also a time for them to look forward to the future. As we think about the word “Commencement”, we need to think about how it is the starting point. At Graduation, the students did not only close one chapter, however, they were able to open a new chapter towards a Career.
Congratulations to all of our Graduates. We look forward to hearing all of your success stories in the near future. The Staff and Faculty at Broadview University knows that you will be able to accomplish great things in your given profession. Remember to “Aim High” and “Think about your Accomplishments” as you move forward.
