When we saw the results, we knew that this was something revolutionary.
We worked for years developing and perfecting our MAT® methodology. By the time that we launched in 2000, we knew that this method was different: it corrected muscular deficiencies versus only treating them.
Clients of all ages and physical abilities have benefited from our disciplined methodology. Practitioners ranging from licensed physical therapists to massage specialists have become certified in MAT methodology and taken our approach to their clients and clinics. Some use MAT as a standalone technique whereas others use it as an adjunct technique to complement other methods that they have found work for their clients.

WHY MAT ?
Our methods are rooted in science, anatomy, and client outcomes.
As practitioners of methods designed to relieve pain and improve mobility, we all share the same goal. We aim to reduce our clients’ pain and risk of injury so that they can move more comfortably and actively. As clients experiencing pain and restricted movement, we want a solution that works: we don’t want a quick fix with temporary relief.
Over the years, MAT has been featured in dozens of fitness magazines and daily newspapers as a “method that works.”
The MAT method helps the muscles hold the bones in alignment which improves mobility and reduces pain. MAT is the only method that improves muscle contractile efficiency.
How does it work?
Our 77 Range of Motion Exams and 214 Muscle Tests help practitioners identify which muscles are not “firing” (receiving and/or acting on the brain’s signal). Once the cause for the pain and impaired mobility is identified, practitioners begin a series of muscle tests in an established process and work to “reactivate” the affected muscles. MAT® reactivates muscles to get them working again versus temporarily stretching or relaxing them.
Other methods attempt to relax the muscle to lengthen or change it by stretching, heating, kneading, or foam rolling. In contrast, MAT activates your muscle so that it will become better prepared to handle the force applied to it through everyday movements and exercise.
MAT can standalone or complement other methods. That’s why we offer flexible learning options. Get a certificate or a degree (Associate, Bachelor’s or Master’s). Focus on a single body area (upper, lower, hand & foot or trunk & spine) or become a full-body specialist.
