Course Highlights

Managerial Communications

Business leaders manage the flow of information between themselves, other professionals, and their clients. In this course, you will analyze written and oral communication methods for the effective exchange of ideas. You’ll learn optimal methods for communicating with professional colleagues such as financial advisors, team leaders, sales associates, and production team employees. The course also examines the challenges that diverse virtual mediums and global markets can present as managers present, discuss, and negotiate various transactions.

Research and Business Project Development

Understanding and interpreting research and proposals is central to any management position. This course reviews how information is presented in all format types: narrative, visual, and statistical. Students will examine the presentation of concepts and communication of ideas. They will compare written and graphic approaches as well as electronic and print-copy formats. Students review technical issues and research ethics while writing individual business plan or project outlines.

Case Studies in Business Ethics and Law

This course will explore the challenges facing business leaders regarding their responsibilities to employees and society, and the legal and regulatory systems that enforce those principles. Working in teams and in study groups, students will examine case studies in business ethics and law, review published cases, and reach plausible solutions to address the issues.<

Taxation and Business Decisions

In this course, students look at the relationship between managerial decision-making and taxes. Topics include the different types of entities and the impact of tax considerations in corporate structure, reorganization, and compensation. The course also includes study of the Statements of Standards for Tax Services.
