Course Highlights

Human Capital: Two-Sided Accountability

When balancing ROI metrics against qualitative assessments, it can sometimes be easy to overlook the value of the individuals – the “human capital” – represented on the balance sheet. This course will provide an in-depth examination of measuring that human capital based on a nonlinear, integrated approach. Topics including aligning employee performance with improved recruitment, training and development and retention practices; the relationship between human resources and organizational development; and the balance of human capital investments and accountability will all be explored, and their impact on ROI discussed.

Case Studies in Business Ethics and Law

This course will explore the challenges facing business leaders regarding their responsibilities to employees and society, and the legal and regulatory systems that enforce those principles. Working in teams and in study groups students will examine case studies in business ethics and law, review published cases, and reach plausible solutions to address the issues.

Applications of Operations Management

In this hands-on class, students will use case studies in various aspects of operations management to create and apply models maximizing individual and team performance, service and product effectiveness, and overall productivity. They will then create formative and summative assessments to evaluate the strategies used to increase operational effectiveness.
