Broadview University Graduation is a Win for All

Graduation is a magical time.
Broadview University-Orem campus had their winter quarter graduation recently at the Sleepy Ridge golf club in the majestic sunset room. As nice as the facility is, the real stars were the graduates. Broadview had graduates in medical, business, paralegal, veterinary technology and criminal justice.
Everyone who graduates has to work hard, persevere, be dedicated and master their studies. The graduates for Broadview University winter quarter were no different. Vet tech graduate and student commencement speaker, Doug Crew, spoke about all of the time spent studying, working on animals and the people that helped him achieve his goal of graduation.
“One of the people I want to thank is my mother. She has always supported me throughout my journey. She is my rock,” said Doug.
Student Steve Loosli said, “We are finally here! I am excited to be looking forward to new adventures.”
Graduation is not only for the graduates but also for the friends, families and loved ones of the graduates.
“We drove 1800 miles, all the way from Port Huron, Michigan, to be here for graduation. We would not have missed it for the world,” said Pat Pryor, mother of vet tech graduate and commencement speaker, Doug Crew.
Another huge fan of graduation is the Broadview staff and faculty.
“After more than 16 graduations, I still look forward to every one. It’s a special day for the graduates, but it is also a special day for the faculty,” said vet tech instructor Heather Bird.
In addition, Randy Johnson, dean of education, says, “It is an honor to hand each student their diploma as they walk across the stage. They have worked so hard and sacrificed so much for this moment. It is truly very close to my heart when I shake their hand and say ‘well done’!”
