Broadview University-Orem has a long tradition of graduating excellent students that go on to be successful in their chosen fields. This year is no different. At a recent graduation, Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams spoke to a crowd of over 200 graduates, friend, family and staff. His message was one of taking on the challenges ahead and celebrating the accomplishments of the past and present.
The excitement of graduation is not only for the graduates, the staff and faculty understand the importance of the big day. Broadview University-Orem Dean of Education Randy Johnson said, “Everything we do leads to graduation day. The students did all the work, but it is so gratifying to be part of such a special day.”
In addition, Broadview University’s Director of Admissions Rachel Chapman said, “What I really like about graduation is the celebration of their personal success. These students worked so hard to get where they are today and will find even more success tomorrow.” All of us at Broadview feel the same way as Randy and Rachel.
Most of all, graduation is about the students! One of Broadview’s best, Kaydee Bowen, the veterinary technology student speaker at the commencement, said “There were times I thought this day would never come, but I already have a cool job, and I am looking forward to the next stage in my life. I really appreciate all the support I got from my friends, faculty and staff at Broadview.”
Broadview University works from curriculum development to graduation to ensure that our students have the skills necessary to be successful, and find employment in their chosen field. It is even more of a celebration when our graduates acquire that career opportunity.
Over the past 40 years, Broadview University, (Utah Career College prior to 2009) has graduated thousands of people. If you are a graduate and would like to get re-involved with Broadview call 801-822-5804 and ask for Bob.
